It is billed the must-see show of the year! (And it is only January!) At first, we were not really planning to see this one. However, last week our kumare Dra. Cristy dela Cruz enticed us to buy by giving us discount coupons she had. When I went to buy 2 days ago though, I only had Upper Box B tickets to buy since every better seating area had already been sold out.

We caught the 1pm show. We were there by 1130am, from Mass. There was already quite a line outside. I had to rush and eat my lunch while on line, because they began to allow people to get in already. When inside, we waited in another line until 12nn when they allowed people into arena itself. We were able to get very good seats with a clear view above the right corner of the ice.

While waiting, I was finding out how much the merchandise being hawked cost. The two of note were a P150 lollipop shaped like Mickey's head, and a Dalmatians cotton candy worth an incredible P300!!!

By 1pm, the show started promptly. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy and Goofy skated out in safari outfits. You just knew that this was the set-up for a Lion King program. The kids recognized Rafiki, Timon, Pumbaa, and of course, Simba and Nala. The best was the athletic pairs number of Simba and Nala in "Can You Feel the Love Tonight."

Next up was "101 Dalmatians." The girl who played Cruella deVille skated very well solo. The way they came up with 101 Dalmatians on the ice was ingenious. They even counted them to make sure everyone knows there was 101.

This was followed by "The Little Mermaid". This was for me the best series of skating numbers in the entire show. Aside from Ariel and Eric, there was Sebastian, Flounder, and a most impressive (and gigantic, and scary) Ursula. "Part of Your World", "Under the Sea" and "Kiss the Girl" were all very vibrantly choreographed and staged. After this, they called an intermission.

"Peter Pan" was next. Was it the time taking its toll on me or was the program becoming boring, because by this time I was fighting to keep awake. Anyway, the flying sequences, the pirates and the skill of they guy skating as Peter Pan still managed to keep my attention somewhat.

By the time it was "Lilo and Stich", my attention has really waned to the point I think I actually drifted off in sections. It did not help that it was not really one of my favorite Disney movies. The "aliens" were not really skating too much, and the Elvis music used was surprisingly not invigorating.

Then I was jolted when the other characters from the earlier part of the program started to skate out for a grand finale number. It was a very good and elaborate finale, great number to end the whole show on a good note.

This was primarily for the kids though. I am glad to see they had fun and actually knew when to applaud skillful skating! As it was being advertised, we should start looking forward to the upcoming "High School Musical Ice Show" in July.

While there, I tried to buy Maroon 5 tickets, but for some reason, only the P10,000 and P7500 tickets were being sold. Strange. I was told to keep calling Ticketnet for further updates in release of tickets. This makes me wary of a Josh Groban ticket scenario again, I hope not.

So I just brought everyone home. Had to catch the Djokovich-Tsonga match, haha.
